All Things Must Pass

Twelve months ago I commented on the swine flu epidemic and the panic associated with it.
Strange how nothing, absolutely nothing is being said about it today.

On the other hand there is a dire warning about climate change and how Australia will be affected.
Who am I to question the wisdom of Professor Jean Palutikof?
Time will tell.

How about the panic that preceded the year 2000 and the inevitable collapse of society because computers would revert to year zero?

Three years ago I questioned the wisdom of the panic that became government sponsored mass hysteria as we were told that it would never rain again and we would have to learn to live with less water, much less water. Australia is now drowning in record rainfall with floods devastating previous drought zones.

What can we deduce from all this? That mass hysteria and panic should always be taken with a grain of salt, as the proverbial expression says.

Don't listen to me because I'm not a professor, what do I know? All things must pass, that's what.

I am so sick and tired of the hype over every little thing - everything that happens outside of our ideal is somehow a catastrophe. People are so f'n stupid.

That in each instance, the people behind each and every one of these scares made a helluva lot of $$$.

MONEY, it makes the world go round you know.

To me it seems that it's the experts who cause mass hysteria.
