As a fan of the Bernie Gunther series, I couldn't wait for Philip Kerr's latest offering. Whilst reading the book, I kept thinking, there's a rational explanation for all these mysterious events. But the more I progressed, the less rational the events seemed. In the end, I was disappointed because I'm not a religious person. This is a religious book with a bit of mystery thrown in to move the plot along. I guess if you are a God person, you would find this interpretation of the nature of God interesting but it left me feeling like it was a waste of time.
Sorry Philip Kerr, I don't share your beliefs.
