Islamic Chauvinism

Lets get one thing perfectly clear. Nowhere in the Quran does it say the women should wear the veil. I challenge anyone to show me different. The Quran only requires women to "dress modestly". Anybody who is intelligent enough should be able to work this out for themselves. Any muslim who is literate, should read the Quran and discover this for themselves.
Now, here's a story of a typical case of chauvinism, well entrenched in the Muslim psyche.
It seems that followers of Islam are overwhelmed by tradition and bullshit that isn't part of the Quran. The fact that the emergence of Islam required a radical shift from a maternal to a paternal society is the root cause of all this chauvinism.
Islam once fostered a society of scientific inquiry, Islam once hosted a society of inquiring minds and was the repository of all western knowledge while the west descended into the darkness and ignorance of the middle ages. It seems that the roles have now been reversed as Muslims have descended into the ignorance and superstition that was characteristic of the middle ages. Wake up followers of Mohammed and integrate into the 21st century rather than trying to drag the west back to the stone age.
