Nuclear Arms Race

It seems that the days of the cold war and the nuclear arms race are back with vengeance.
China and Russia are prepared to help Egypt with nuclear technology. The days of MAD(Mutually Assured Destruction) lent some stability to the threat of all out nuclear war.
Today, it's not so simple and clear cut. The threat of nuclear weapons in the hands of terrorist organizations is not paranoia anymore, it is inevitable.
Worse, there is no longer the stability of MAD to discourage the use of nuclear weapons.
As the world frets about the causes of global warming, is it greenhouse gases or not? The real threat grows and multiplies mocking the efforts of GWB in Iraq to stem the spread of weapons of mass destruction.
What's the new policy going to be? Strategic bombing of nuclear power plants as they pop up like mushrooms? (excuse the unintended pun).

Lexcen, I agree that something will happen. I do not think we can stop it because we are too interested in penetrating new markets, buying cheaper goods, spreading our idealogy of the good life.

Personally, I think we have a more impending problem here in the US. I believe we are heading for a French Revolution type event as our institutions lend a deaf ear to what the people are saying. Get too many parents who cannot feed their kids and you have a real problem. Once that movement starts it will spread and spiral out of control.

As always we are the authors of our own destiny. Shortsighted decisions made on a daily basis bring long term problems.

David, I think I better dust off my volumes of Karl Marx.
Seriously, I never considered the US situation to be as grim as you suggest.
