Remember the drought?

Remember the posts I made about Australia and the drought? Remember the oracle Lex saying how Australia was a land of drought, floods and bushfire?
Now here's the latest news about flood.

The weird thing is that we're still discussing how to save water.

Are you affected by the flood, Lexcen??
Saving water ... The authorities have to build mega-big "sement-containers" where the rain-water can be collected and purified into drinking-water. It shouldn't be a big deal these days, where they other places make whole vallies as water-reservoires.

Kirsten, thanks for the concern but no, I'm not in danger of floods.

I predict that by the summer, the record snow fall and record rainfall will eventually fill up the dams to their capacity. It's just frustrating to see people blind to the true nature of this continent. After more than 200 years of settlement, people still don't understand the uniqueness that is Australia. Floods, drought and bush fires are to be expected and should not catch us by surprise all the time. People who live in the bush are always surprised when a fire burns down their house. It's like living at the foot of a volcano and being surprised when the volcano erupts. People live in flood prone areas that flood once every 60 years and yes, they are surprised when this happens.
