The Borg and Jihad

I am currently reading Future Jihad by Walid Phares.
Every page is interesting and stimulating. My thoughts are running wild so please excuse this post and forgive me my daily rantings.

If you've ever
watched Star Trek, you would be familiar with the formidable foe known as the Borg.
If you're not familiar, then it's important to know that the Borg are a race that is as fierce as they are formidable.
The Borg scour the universe, destroying all in their path and either assimilating individuals into their collective consciousness or killing them. The crew of the Star Trek have never managed to defeat them, only to escape with the skin of their teeth.
The unique feature of the Borg is that all individuals assimilated become part of the Borg organism, they are all one and one is all.

What made me think of the Borg was the history of the origins of Islam and how it spread its tentacles (remember I am reading Future Jihad). And here is what caused the link in my mind between the Borg and Islam. Reading the history of Islam, and it's phenomenal success in spreading over three continents, it's genius was in the way it managed to integrate all who were conquered. Like the Borg, Islam penetrates the minds of its subjects and absorbs them into the collective consciousness, those that refuse to convert are killed or allowed to exist in servitude(dhimmi).

I wonder if the writers who created the Borg had any of this in mind.
Now think about this, this is spooky, the Borg ships, have an uncanny resemblance to the holy of holies, Mecca. That black square mass that is the object of pilgrimage.

Astute observation lexcen. I think it fits.

...breaknfree...America doesn't conquest anything.
They fight, rebuild and leave.
How much land has America gained in the last 75 years?

It's all about containment not conquest.

break_n_free, I don't believe in the concept of American Imperialism.
1.America saved the world from Hitler.
2.America crushed Japanese Imperialist aspirations.
3.America fucked up in Korea.
4.America fucked up in Vietnam.
5.America fucked up in Iraq(twice).
What we are witnessing now is corporate globalization that supersedes national governments. Study the history of Islam and you will learn about ideological globalization and how it is a real threat.
