Greek Easter

Easter is just a few days away and for Greeks, its the most exciting time of the year. Even bigger than Christmas.

Greeks love celebrating, they love food and they love their religion and cultural significance of Easter and how it manages to bring everything together.

There's the special bread and red easter eggs which are used to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ.
Christos Anesti means Christ has arisen and is the common greeting at Easter time.

Going to Church, taking communion after a decent fast and participating in the religious parade are all part of the Easter celebrations.

I thought I'd throw in a few photos of traditional Greek costumes worn by Greek soldiers.
Very gay aren't they?

I've researched the significance of these costumes but I still find them incredibly funny and effeminate.

Just don't express this opinion to any Greek.

This post is to wish everyone a Happy Easter and to thank Greece for giving me so much enjoy.

The eggs are cool but the costumes look like they belong in Willie Wonka's chocolate factory.

Beautiful Easter eggs. They know how to do that, at least.

Those costumes are pretty hilarious. I might dress up like that for Halloween, though I don't want to piss off any Greeks...

Jen, nobody seems to realize that Greeks invented pantyhose and the mini-skirt.

Ha! As a Greek, I must say...definitely gay costumes. We all know how they separate the men from the boys in Greece right?
