Jihad Jack

I'm not one to harp on the violation of civil liberties, not these days when the world has been turned upside down with the threat of terrorism. Jihad Jack.
The guy that is front page news in Australia highlights the dilemma faced by authorites in dealing with crimes of intent. Guilt by association. Innocent because of a legal technicality.
It's a sad day for western civilization and democracy. Does this mean that the terrorists have won the first round? Who knows. Do I feel sorry for Jihad Jack, fuck no. Do I worry about the loss of freedom in society? Not for myself, I'm not planning any sedition. It's just that the thought at the back of my mind that Government (any government) cannot be trusted.
