Remember the drought?

Remember the posts I made about Australia and the drought? Remember the oracle Lex saying how Australia was a land of drought, floods and bushfire?
Now here's the latest news about flood.

The weird thing is that we're still discussing how to save water.

Floods

As politicians run around like chooks with their heads cut off, surprised that we have drought in this country, floundering with policies on how to save water (see pic), we have the inevitable flip side to the nature of Australia, flood. As night follows day, flood will follow drought in Australia. Why is everybody constantly surprised?

Floods,drought,bushfires

Here is a news story to relieve the boredom of same old same old...
I've already commented about the drought, I've commented about the bushfires and I've commented about the snow in the middle of summer. Now it's flood.

There must be something in all this that the Australian Tourist Bureau can use. How about "Australia, you'll never know what to expect, a land of surprises"

I know (see story about swimming pools) the bureaucrats will be busy chasing their own tails, making new policies as a result of changing weather conditions. Rice farmers will be very happy. Yes, we have rice farms in Australia.
In Australia, we talk about the weather, greet each other with comments about the weather, it's either too hot, too cold, too wet, or too dry. That's of course when we're not talking about sport.

Don't get me wrong, Australia is a beautiful country with magnificent natural scenery, wonderful people, very laidback attitude, if only we didn't have politicians to mess things up.
