I've already commented about the drought, I've commented about the bushfires and I've commented about the snow in the middle of summer. Now it's flood.
There must be something in all this that the Australian Tourist Bureau can use. How about "Australia, you'll never know what to expect, a land of surprises"
I know (see story about swimming pools) the bureaucrats will be busy chasing their own tails, making new policies as a result of changing weather conditions. Rice farmers will be very happy. Yes, we have rice farms in Australia.

Don't get me wrong, Australia is a beautiful country with magnificent natural scenery, wonderful people, very laidback attitude, if only we didn't have politicians to mess things up.

Yes, they always mess it up, don't they?? The politician!!!
By the way ... You have all the garbage floating around in the air in Australia too??
Here in Egypt....Even if you far out in the desert, you have plasticbags whirling with the wind, trying to land in you face... UCH!!!
We have similar problems. The Texas motto is "If you don't like the weather, wait around 10 minutes it will change"
Florida has the same motto as Texas when it comes to the weather, but you have all four seasons in one sesson.
I think everywhere the conversation opener is about the weather. It's a safe topic. There are certainly very few days that people consider perfect around here.
"Australia, you'll never know what to expect, a land of surprises"
Gee, I was kind of partial to "where the bleedin' hell are you?"
Though, I suppose if you could get the same girl to deliver the message...
