Contractual one night stand. Praise Allah

OK, so my last post was a sendup. But compare it to this story which isn't intended as a laughing matter and tell me you don't find it funny, even if you are a Muslim.

In brief, Iran is facing a serious shortage of women, men are unable to satisfy their natural urges, and Iran doesn't want to slide into western decadence of prostitution. The answer is, praise Allah, temporary marriages. Signed, sealed and approved by the holy Quran, temporary marriages are a legitimate way form men and women to get together without breaking any Muslim laws.

In other words, a contractual one night stand.


Last week there was the story of how women could fit in to the workplace by breastfeeding males co-workers to establish a "familial" relationship and circumvent Muslim law. I'm not a fan of breastfeeding from my co-workers so I'll leave that one alone.

Back to the temporary marriage concept. I think it's a great way for women to preserve their families' honor and not get themselves killed because they have brought shame on their family.

Nothing like a win-win situation.
