This week I,
Removed cracked paving tiles and replaced them with new ones in back yard.
Replaced faulty speakers in wife's car
Repaired broken windscreen wiper system in wife's car
Had solar power panels installed on roof (by professionals of course)
Worked on a new painting that is radical, probably controversial and will no doubt be hated by everybody (nothing quite like success is there?)
Watched a documentary titled Inside the Vatican. Can't tell you how depressed it made me feel.
In fact watch Pat Condell ranting to get an idea of the depth of the depravity of organized religion.
Nearly posted a blog but found that I was repeating myself (can't have that).
Had a haircut.

I've repeated myself several times on my blog and it's such a strange feeling. Makes me wonder what people think when I do it.
Oh well. Life can be quite repetitive sometimes.
I didn't click on the link about the depth of the depravity of organized religion b/c it's too late to go into that, but I will later. I am reading a book called The Invisible Church, about what the author calls 'pseudo-religion' in the U.S. and the damage it has inflicted on our spirits.
Jen, that sounds like a very interesting book, I'll try to get my hands on it.

I have been having a good look at your paintings, and I am no art critic but I know what appeals to me. They are all good but my favourite is the one you have called 'conciousness', I like the kangaroo as well:-)
It might be a good idea if I took up painting, it may help me to relax when I become too stressed out at the madness in this world.
I saw the Pope on-line with some Islamist freak; Pat Condell gets straight to the point. I don't know why he slags off the BNP though.
Productive week. I've been the opposite - so many things to do and I just can't get into them.
I also need to learn how to do painting like yours - my daughter really loves that style and wants some for her apartment. Funny - it feels scarier to do something "unreal" than otherwise.
I could almost kiss them for what they've done. ;-)
Are you familiar with the etymology of the word "religion"?

Jeannie, I found it hardest to break free of traditional art, including abstract (yes there is a tradition there as well) and find the freedom to express myself visually without any inhibitions.
FJ, I'll get back to you on the homework you've set for me.
FJ, fascinating as it is, the symbolism of Jesus and his temptation, don't seem to touch on the fact that the Catholic church has constructed an institution that is so far removed from spirituality and God that it is an abomination. Believing in JC and his miracles doesn't automatically condone or justify the materialism,opulence and indulgence in all things worldly by the institution that is the Catholic church. I would go so far as to understand the pull of Islam, the revolt by Martin Luther and other deviations away from Catholicism. The Greek Orthodox church which has a more direct link to the birth of Christianity does not in any way resemble the profligacy of the Catholic church. If you watch the program "Inside the Vatican" you will understand.
Don't get me ranting on Catholicism, that bastardization of the Christian faith that came 300 years after Christ.
Ah, what the heck.
Look at Jeremiah 44, then take a look at every nation that is predominantly "Queen of Heaven / Mary" venerating Catholics.
All of them shitholes. Latin America, France, Italy, Africa. All crap.
Except for one place that has nearly a half million dollars per capita individual annual income... Vatican City.
We balked at Saddam Hussein's golden toilets, why not "Pope" Ratzinger's?
And further with the symbolism... if Christ is the "King of Heaven" and his bride is the body of Christian believers, then isn't "Queen of Heaven" worship essentially "self-worship?"
The Roman Catholic Church disgusts me.
