We have experienced power failures. Here is a new excuse, one I've never heard before, it's the fault of the bushfires.
Apparently, there is a source of supply of electricity to our state (Vic) which comes comes from another state (NSW). The supply lines were cut by bushfires.
My conclusion that the infrastructure has been left to deteriorate still holds true.

Is National Grid running all of your electric companies yet? Widespread power outages were a preview of their takeover of ours. National Grid is a British company taking over large regions piece by piece in the US and Europe. I did hear they were headed to Australia too. Check it out.
JP, I haven't heard of National Grid but if they are operating under a different name/subsidiary it's possible.
