Tiger

This has probably been the worst week in Tiger's life.
He showed signs of abnormal behaviour (lack of activity, staying indoors, not eating) five days ago. After a few days I took a closer look at him only to find a huge lump above his left eye and a puncture hole.
It was full of puss, it was squeezed out and it had a awful foul smell.
Two day later the sore was healing nicely but Tiger still didn't show any sign of returning to his normal behaviour. His eyelids looked puffy and his eyes looked half shut.
Another examination revealed a spike on his forehead. I pulled it out only to trigger a flow of smelly, putrid puss.
Puss was dripping everywhere, on the carpet, on our clothes, it was pouring out like a fountain. As Pumpkin and I ran around in a mad panic attack, Tiger calmly licked up the puss that oozed onto the floor.
It was a mad rush to the vet, he got some shots and had his forehead shaven. He's recovering nicely and his appetite has returned.
It seems that cats are vulnerable to infections from bites and scratches.

Tiger looks like a nice cat and I hope he improves and gets back to normal. Keep me posted.

Poor Tiger...I hope he heals good as new. I know how I would be nuts if Bubba ever had to deal with anything like that.

lamb,jp, thanks for your concern. Tiggy is still recovering, sleeping under a chair indoors instead of his usual "al fresco" mode.

Somebody was mean to that poor cat.

Lamb, Tiggy is some a sweet cat, he brings us leaves every night and miaows his head off with each new leaf. He sometimes brings a rat home . He never catches birds (like Merlin). I think he was in a fight with a neighbor's cat. He usually doesn't like to fight and walks away from confrontation.

Beautiful tomcat. Hope he gets well soon.

Pin ups make human males feel good. Perhaps it works for felines, too?

Glad you caught it in time. Sometimes animals will feign good health out a survival instinct not to show weakness.

What a beautiful cat, Lexcen. He will be OK again, I'm sure

Lexcen, may I ask whether your beautiful Tiger has recovered?

e.,thanks for asking, Tiger recovered quickly and has been back to normal for a while now. I suspect his injuries were caused by a fight with a possum. Since both possums and Tiger are roaming around at night, there was bound to be a confrontation.

Good to learn that Tiger is fine againe :) He is a beautiful cat. Those possums shall leave him alone.

Sometimes, I can hear martens and cats fight in the garden. Sounds awful.
