Deja Vu and Middle East conflict

1939–1941 semi-official emblem of League of N...Image via WikipediaI laughed when I heard that the UN was calling an emergency meeting. I expected at best another resolution from the UN.
I guess I was being recklessly optimistic. In fact the UN security council couldn't even come up with a statement let alone a resolution.
Looking ahead, and I mean distant future not near future, the world might witness the bizarre spectacle of UN peace keeping force deployed in the Middle East.
I always look forward to seeing the UN forces getting captured, again showing how ineffectual and useless they really are.
Blue helmets against guns and bombs don't stand a chance.

I know the situation is too serious to laugh at but really, is this the best the united front of world powers can achieve?

Everybody knows that the UN is as useless as tits on a bull. So why continue the charade? What is it that drives people to believe in ideals? What blinkers do you need to wear to be blind to the ineffectiveness of a democratic world body that has persistently and consistently shown how toothless it really is from its initial conception as the League of Nations to its transformation into the United Nations.

If I look into my crystal ball, I will see the U.S yet again getting involved in another pointless conflict far away from home. And as a consequence the Muslim nations will yet again find justification for their blind and irrational hatred of everything American and everything America represents. Democracy being the first casualty of blind hate.

To those of you who doubt my predictions I say, read your history. If you know enough history then you are no longer surprised when history repeats itself.

People with ideals just get in the way of people who have serious agendas requiring violence and brute force to accomplish. I agree that the U.N. is basically useless, however, its existence requires everyone to practise political correctness which hampers things a little.

We need the UN so that we all have an excuse to ignore the next genocide in Rwanda. When it happens, we can all point to the UN and say, "It's not our fault!"
