No no not the Muslims again....

Regular readers would have noticed that I've managed to abstain referring to Muslim antics for a while. That's because I don't want my life to be ruled by any obsession such as Muslim antics can lead to.
Of course, this week I read in the news that Muslim students demand (DEMAND) not ask or request or wish for an exclusively Muslim prayer room.
What failed to be considered is that in fact Muslims really need two exclusive prayer rooms, one for males and one for females.
Just like the necessity for exclusive access to female Muslims at swimming pools at the exclusion of all other people, Muslim demands have a nature of being discriminatory.

I would hesitate a guess as to what other demands we might expect of Muslims in the future. Oops, the future? I should say now because all the links I've found are old news.

How about expectations that others dress modestly so as not to offend the sensibilities of faithful Muslims?
In Lincoln Park, Mich., Fitness USA relented when Muslim women demanded that the gym wall off a co-ed aerobic center from their women-only section because men could see them working out.

How about suspension of lectures and tutorials to allow for prayer five times a day?
Muslim workers at meatpacking plants owned by JBS Swift in Colorado and Nebraska walked out in September to demand time for prayer and dinner during their holy month of Ramadan. When the company agreed, other workers, largely Latino immigrants, led counter-protests, complaining that the Muslims were being favored.

How about the construction of minarets to facilitate call to prayer by Muslims?
With the growing number of Muslims in Germany, there is more and more demand among Muslim communities for mosques. Ahmet Akbaba has been busy lately. He has already finished several mosques in northern and southern Germany, and more projects are lined up.

How about removal of all references to Christmas and Easter so as not to offend the sensibilities of Muslims?
A leading Islamic body says the use of the term "Christmas" is politically incorrect because it excludes too many people in multicultural Australia.

Muslim demand war crimes tribunal.

And so on and so forth...

Hammer, the answer to your question is that unlike the mythical Protocols of Zion, the Muslims really do have an agenda to dominate the world. That is their obligation to Allah. That is the reason they emigrate to western countries. The idea is that once their numbers within the population reach a critical mass of say approx 10%, they start making demands. Simple as that.

I disagree with you on this one, Lexcen. To explain.

When I was first at university all those years ago, there was a University chapel (Christian) plus many religious groups, Christian and non-Christian.

In those days had Muslims requested a prayer room it would have been seen as nothing strange, simply meeting the needs of a group of students. They did not request it, the proportion of Muslim students on the UNE campus was then only 4%, but it would have been granted had they requested it.

This remains my position.

Jim, I never arrive at a conclusion from a single isolated incident. My perspective is to consider Muslim demands worldwide and then arrive at a conclusion. If you search for news items regarding Muslim demands, you will see that I am not exaggerating or over reacting.

It's interesting Lexcen. I was focusing on our changing reactions, rather than the other side.

Those on the negative side seem to fall to two main streams: those who are anti-religious full stop; those who are concerned with or opposed to Muslim developments.

I do not think that either the motives or patterns in the Muslim world are really relevant to the issue. It should be dealt with on its merits in an Australian context.
