Lexcen's proof that God doesn't exist

The Universe is the most overwhelming fact that disproves the existence of God.
The Universe is so large, so old that it is living proof that there is no room for a concept of God.
The random nature of life, the random nature of life on earth is the other element of proof.
The existence of randomness goes against any notion of a plan, of a higher being.
Even if the Universe has other forms of life, whether these forms of life are numerous or just a few doesn't matter. Consider this, no other form of life has contacted planet earth. This means that there is no other form of life more advanced than that of planet earth. So whether we are the only random life form in existence or not, we certainly seem to be the most advanced form of life.

Considering the age of the universe, that is an extraordinary proposition. Either that or other life forms have come into existence and vanished before life on earth began. Moot point.

The randomness that governs every aspect of existence means that there is no natural justice, therefore no higher being that is looking over us and taking care of us.

The notion of a God is incompatible with the facts of the known universe. The is no room for a being that exists that might have created the universe. There is no place for a God within the known universe.

What remains unknown about the nature of the universe might eventually be know or not. This doesn't change the facts as we know them now.

Sorry Lex...this post disturbs me. I can't even comment beyond that.

JP, I'm surprised, I thought Kirsten would be the first to be disturbed.
It's not that I set out to shock people but I am reading quite a lot about religion at the moment on different blogs and felt that I needed to express myself.

I am not disturbed at all, Lexcen. To me ... God may be a subconcious being, the cosmos itself or your own conciousness. It can also be compressed positive/negative cosmic waves.

Natural Justice ... because we do not follow the law of nature...we can not expect a natrural justice neither.

When I refer to God, it is not necessary "a boogyman" in the sky.
To me it is only a WORD to explain an unknown/unexpected force that obviously works at certain therms.

But ... It is nothing less than AMAZING how people get disturbed by the WORD "GOD", or by a subject where this word is used.

Believe it or not, randomness/chaos/whatever can also be used as an argument for the possibility of existence of a supernatural force (meaning forces outside of our natural world) or a "God" . Things such as Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle create just enough wiggle room so as to preclude a unified-field theory (or a "theory of everything"), meaning that there is some "playing dice" (as Einstein famously phrased it) in nature. Those who claim this base the idea on the fact that - without some supernatural force occasionally poking the universe in the ribs - the universe is only governed by (predictable) chemical, physical, and biological laws, and nothing more (thus ruling out free will).
It DOES NOT in any way shape or form provide proof of the existence of a God or any other supernatural force (something that, I believe is impossible), it simply provides for the the possibility...
That being said, I've never really been a fan of astronomy...

Kirsten, I always try to respect other people's beliefs when I make comments about religion.

Timmy,
thanks for your erudite comment. I'm not an intellectual or a scientist so my efforts pale in comparison to the great thinkers of this world. If science is going to be used to make allowances for the possibility of the existence of God, then we will have to rethink the idea of God away from an anthropomorphic being to one that is more in sync with scientific principles and the laws that govern the Universe.

******************
We could become 10 times as advanced and not be able to contact other life forms millions of light years away.

In other words, there could be other species in the universe much more advanced than us.

Other than that, there is absolutely no evidence God exists or has ever existed.
