The Guilt by Association Law

It had to come to this, guilt by association or section 501 of the Migration Act, Australia.
The law specifically allows for the cancellation of a visa if a person is found to have or had an association with persons involved in criminal activity.

It's both a sad day for civil liberties and a victory day for the fight against terrorism.

What other choice is there?

I guess it depends on how they define an association.

You buys your ticket and takes your chances. I am still having trouble with NSA wiffling through my E-mail.

No choice, really. Terrorists aren't stupid, and try to build cells around people without a criminal record. This may be the only way to keep them out.
