Democracy is bankrupt and an irrational idea...

"Democracy is bankrupt and an irrational idea" says Uthman Badar, spokesman for Hizb ut-Tahir.
Isn't is wonderful that he is in a democratic country that gives him the right to say this without fear of recrimination? In fact in many Middle Eastern countries his organization is banned so he cannot speak out and express such radical opinions.
Hizb ut-Tahrir (the Party of Liberation) is banned in virtually all Arab nations in the Middle East, such as Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt. It is banned in Tunisia and Libya, and also Turkey. It is regarded as such a threat that it is even banned in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, which are already cauldrons of extremism. It is banned in all the former Soviet states in Central Asia, and since February 2003 it has been banned in Russia. It has been banned in Germany - on account of its anti-Semitism and its desire to use force for political ends - since March 2003, and it is also banned in the Netherlands. Yet in Britain, the United States, Canada and Australia, the group remains free to operate.
This weekend Hizb ut-Tahrir will hold a conference is Sydney.
Isn't it reassuring when they tell us that they aren't advocating violence?
We must know something that Jordan,Syria,Lebanon,Egypt,Tunisia,Lybia,Turkey,Saudi Arabia,Pakistan,Russia,Germany and the Netherlands don't know.

I will never be able to come to grips with these clowns that ridicule democracy and are only able to speak out BECAUSE OF DEMOCRACY in the first place.

They have a lot in common with leftists, which is why I suppose so many leftists agree with idiots like this.
