Indians and culture

Everybody knows that Indians will torch a wife who doesn't have an adequate dowry, and the incidence of girl infanticide in India is so great that there is a dire shortage of females for the males to marry.
Nevertheless, I am still surprised by the latest news story of a grandmother dumped at the local rubbish tip.
The fact that she was still alive and kicking didn't come into the families considerations.

God forbid anyone suggest this has anything to do with race, not me!

It's in fact all to do with that wonderful thing known as "culture" which is the cousin of religion.
I despise culture even more than I abhor religion.

There is something way wrong with a culture that does that kind of crap and gets away with it.

People do bad stuff here but at least it's not a culturally accepted practice.

I still think my point remains valid that Indian culture has so much disregard for human life, exceeded only by Muslim culture.

There are many cultures that value human life and humanity, so I have to disagree with your culture statement.

The Western culture isn't all that bad.

What gets me here in Canada is all the fuss over the Indiginous peoples and how their culture was taken from them and we should apologize for all our wrongs. Excuse me, but "our" culture too has changed in the last 300 years. Get the fuck over it! I enjoy foods from other nations, however, when immigrants expect me to bow down to allow them some "culture" from the old country I want to ask why the fuck did you come here if you want to live like that? Go back! We don't need this shit. You are right - culture now has the sacred holiness of religion. Maybe the druggies should start complaining when their dealers get arrested that society is messing with their culture.

God, that is the lowest of the lowest. Exceeded only by Muslim culture? In this case, I'd have to agree.

BEAJ, maybe I'm wrong. We should discuss "culture" further.

Well, there's Aussie culture, lex: throw something on the barbecue, crack open a beer with the mates and have a good time.
See, so not all cultures all bad...
